Blow The Dust Off Your Instrument
Did you learn to play an instrument when you were at school but haven't got it out of the case for a long time? Or have you taken up playing an instrument in adult life just for fun? If the answer is YES then come along to our Blow the Dust off your Instrument playing day.
This playing day will give you the chance to renew your old skills or put new-found ones into practise in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The conductor will be Angela Kay, the Artistic Director of Music for Everyone, who blends expertise, enthusiasm and a great sense of humour.
The instrumental parts will be sent out in advance of the course, to give you time to get to grips with the notes ahead of the day itself.
The January programme includes sessions for full orchestra, strings and windband; while the June Ensembles Day provides opportunities to play chamber music and jazz.
The principal conductors are Angela Kay, Chris McDouall, Phil Smith, Ann Allcock and Kerry Lovell.
"A very big thank-you to all involved. This was my first Blow the Dust and I found it inspiring and
had a fantastic time. How Angela Kay maintained that energy all the way through I'll never know"
"Had a really fun day meeting other people and playing
music with them- the wind band was particularly enjoyable."
"I never in a million years thought I would play in an orchestra for a performance of the Messiah, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It felt like a 'once in a lifetime' experience!"
