Explaining the NYV experience isn’t that easy, but perhaps these comments from members might help

Indeed perhaps the most important thing to stress about NYV is our membership and repertoire is pretty much as diverse as it gets! Under the direction of their enthusiastic young conductor Joe Shaw, the choir rehearse on Tuesdays in term-time and give approximately 4 concerts per season in addition to going on tour each year, and we’re particularly excited to be planning a tour to the historic university town of Cambridge next year!

As a member of NYV you wil also be kept up to date about the latest singing opportunities in the region. If you’re aged 14-19 and a good singer we’d love to hear from you. There are no auditions and you’re more than welcome to come and try a rehearsal and experience the NYV thing for yourself. In particular we’re looking for singers who:

• Are able to attend regularly and will be available to sing in all or very nearly all of our concerts
• Have a flexible voice and enjoy singing
• Have some musical experience and are happy to read from notation
• Are interested in performing a wide-ranging repertoire

Rehearsals: Tuesday evenings (term-time)  7.15pm – 9.30pm

Venue: Nottingham Emmanuel School

Age range: 14-19 years - Members are good singers - No auditions!

Price: £40 per term (school terms)
